While Mexico City is boiling with protests, in a posh neighborhood a lavish upper-class wedding goes awry. An unexpected uprising gives way to a violent coup d’état. As seen through the eyes of the sympathetic young bride and the servants who work for —and against— her wealthy family, the movie traces the collapse of one political system as a more harrowing replacement springs up in its wake.
Winner of the Silver Lion and Leoncino d’Oro Agiscuola at the Venice Film Festival. The film was also exhibited at San Sebastián and Toronto international film festivals.
