Sometimes treated as undisciplined occupants of the North American backyard, the people of Latin America and particularly Brazil, have here their civilizational proposal and their struggle for independence told by the North American linguist and political analyst Noam Chomsky and the Brazilian diplomat Celso Amorim. At the same time, characters, witnesses and analysts of almost a century of history, Chomsky and Amorim shed light on key events of this journey and look for the gaps that point to a fairer and more plural Latin America.
