October 1936. Franco’s dictatorship is opening concentration camps all over the country, setting up convents, factories, schools, bullrings, monasteries, and so forth. Amidst them all, San Simón stands out since it is an island. The Regime turns it into a place of death where prisoners are victims of repression
surrounded by an oppressive beauty. In the very last days of the camp, Lamas recalls the memory of the island.
