Lieutenant Marlon is a young officer in the Rio de Janeiro police force, tasked with finding and capturing a certain Captain Kurtz, a legendary police agent who disappeared under murky circumstances during an operation carried out by corrupt officers. The story takes place in the near future, set in a Rio de Janeiro consumed by social chaos. The city’s access routes have been destroyed by mysterious attacks of unknown origin and, to make matters worse, the sea level has risen, flooding parts of the city. Marlon must carry out his mission on a small boat, alongside a morally dubious policeman, Sergeant Medeiros, embarking on a perilous journey as they precariously navigate through Guanabara Bay and the mangrove canals, across the outskirts of Rio de Janeiro, far from the city’s iconic postcard views.
