Babel (2006)

Sobre o filme

A conclusion to the trilogy begun with Amores Perros and 21 Grams, Babel is an epic. Director Alejandro González Iñárritu and script writer and habitual partner Guillermo Arriaga here elaborate a modern version of the Bible story of the Tower of Babel. American couple Laura and Richard set off on holiday to Morocco where tragedy is to strike an already problematic relationship. The tourist bus runs through a mountain village when they hear a rifle shot and an international incident is thereby generated involving four different families in different countries. Meanwhile, in California, a couple of children are in the care of Amelia, their nursemaid. When she travels to Mexico with her nephew Santiago for her son?s wedding, she unlawfully takes the American children with her. In Tokyo, a widower, a father makes a tremendous effort to understand his teenage deaf-mute daughter undergoing a period of emotional and sexual transformation.
