Jake Vig is an educated trickster who, together with his mates, has just robbed accountant Lionel Dolby of thousands of dollars. All would have seemed to come off well, but when the accountant and one of his companions are found dead, Jake discovers that, in truth, the stolen money belonged to Winston King, an eccentric boss of organized crime. Jake arranges for an encounter with King and is given the mission of swinging adeal to the amount of five million dollars from Morgan Price, a banker with connections with the Mafia. The band now includes Lupus, King’s trusted man and Lily, a pickpocket Jake falls for. They are closely hounded by a tireless FBI agent Gunther Butan, a former enemy of Jake’s.
