The Mountain Hawk (2002)

Sobre o filme

Rosendo, a street singer from Mexico City hears that his brother Gabriel and a companion have been shot by a band of armed men in the mountain region of Durango, in the north of the country. He travels to his native town, El Salto – a village in the region – where he sees his father and friends, and where he learns the story that involves his brother in greater detail. In the conversations he has with the people of the region, he finds very different opinions about his brother. To some, Gabriel was no more than a common criminal, to others he was a bandit with an aura of generosity. The interpretations concerning this outlaw and the peculiar stories inspire Rosendo to compose a ‘corrido’ – a popular Mexican song – to perpetuate the memory of his brother.
