Illusion of Movement (2002)
Sobre o filme
In 1986, after two years spent away, Gerardo returns to Rosário and meets David, his son, age seven, whom he had no idea even existed. The boy?s mother disappeared shortly after delivery, carried away by the brutality of the military regime that swept Argentina. The boy has lived most of his life with other families and is now with his maternal grandmother, Rocío. Gerardo is determined to win the boy’s trust. At first, he puts up a resistance, but will also rebuild the relationship with his father. The return also means a re-encounter with good friends, with whom he recalls a period of his life marked by persecution and flight. The film is compared to another film, also a success in Argentina, Kamchatka, by Marcelo Piñeyro.
