Anorexic supermodels, closeted lesbians or plain simply lonely people: everyone needs a shoulder to cry on. Being a listener is psychoanalyst Lorraine’s job. Lorraine’s is a devoted Christian and suffers from Alzheimer’s. Her memory is failing her and she has no control over her bodily functions anymore. Lorraine backs her mother’s treatment, but it’s her sister, Nina, who effectively looks after their sick mother. With her time marred by her nursing duties, Nina sees her dreams of becoming a famous singer and having a steady relationship crumble.
