My Dad Is a 100 Years Old (2005)

Sobre o filme

Actress Isabella Rossellini is anticipating the celebrations for the birth of her father, film maker Roberto Rossellini (1906-1977) - that will be in 2006 - with this affective, profound script able to summarize all of the sources of cinema. As part of the scene, she plays several roles - herself, that of producer David O. Selznick, directors Alfred Hitchcock and Federico Fellini, actor and director Charles Chaplin, and actress Ingrid Bergman, her mother. Through all of these characters, she stages a live debate between all of them and Rossellini himself - represented by an enormous girth, a sign of her childhood memories the actress had of her father when she was very young. As a subject for this conversation in an oneiric atmosphere, is Rossellini?s ideal that the cinema would illustrate everybody?s mind, the significance of artistic intervention, of nostalgia and of memory.
