The White Planet (2006)
Sobre o filme
A documentary that shows the Arctic regions in a vast panorama, rich in action and feeling. The film captures the splendor of the passage of the seasons in this scenario of incredible plasticity and is a record of the strength and skill of the animals in the North Pole, in their struggle for survival, and their vulnerability in face of the aggressive changes produced in the environment by the phenomenon of global warning. The film allows the plain, natural beauty of the Arctic to speak for itself and, makes a silent appeal on behalf of this strong, nevertheless fragile region of the planet. Bruno Coulais, one of the soundtrack composers most in demand in France, is a specialist in setting documentaries on nature with beautiful scenery to music such as, for instance, in Microcosmos (1996) and Winged Migration (2001, selection for the 27th Mostra).
