The Handcuff King (2002)
Sobre o filme
Finland, in the seventies. Esko is a twelve-year-old boy who lives in a small city close to the Swedish border. He is the leader of a gang. In trying to attract another gang into a trap, they cause a severe accident. Esko lies about his involvement in the case and, as from then, his pals will have nothing else to do with him. At home, things are not going too well. His father falls ill, loses his job and spends all his time drinking. The oldest brother is a singer with a punk band and completely unconcerned with the problems. His mother, a firm, severe woman, threatens to leave the family when her husband starts to drink. Patrick, a Swedish boy is Esko’ friend and is a fan of Houdini, able to break free from chains with no keys. With the strength of their imagination, both live out their dreams and overcome the barriers and hesitation. But Patrick is suffering from a severe disease.
