Paradise Lost (2003)
Sobre o filme
Paradis (Fardis in Arabic) – a fishing village on the shores of the Mediterranean – is a Palestine enclave in Israel. In spite of the beautiful scenery, the streets are fraught with the pain of massacres and deportation. As the director – an Israeli – begins to investigate the past of her native village, she realizes that there are more hidden stories than she supposed and is warned to take care. She describes the story of Suaad, a woman who had been a militant for the OLP (the Organization for the Liberation of Palestine) during the seventies, Suaad was arrested and in prison for many years; she left the country and, today, lives in London where she works as a lawyer. The director goes to England to meet her and this encounter shows her that her fate is equally to leave her native land.
