Dondup, is a young employee in the post office, living in a small village in Bhutan. He dreams of a better life in the U.S. When an opportunity arises to leave, he has two days to reach the capital. But the task is hardly an easy one for, in Bhutan, buses are infrequent and roads precarious. To complicate matters, he misses the bus and is obliged to hitch-hike. Along the way, he meets other travellers and a monk who tells him the story of a farmer, Tashi, imprisoned by a spell. A dreamer, like Tashi, Dondup changes his plans and his way of seeing things during the journey.
