Born in Banyoles, Spain, in 1975. He graduated in Hispanic Literature and Comparative Literature from the University of Barcelona, where he also studied History of Art. Among his films are: "Crespià, the Film not the Village" (2002); "Honor de Cavalleria" (2906, 30th Mostra); "Birdsong" (2008, 32nd Mostra), both screened at Cannes Directors’ Fortnight; "Story of My Death" (2013), winner of the Golden Leopard at the Locarno Film Festival; "The Death of Louis XIV" (2016); and "Liberté" (2019), winner of the Special Jury Prize in the Un Certain Regard section at Cannes.
