Born in Huesca, Spain, in 1932. He began his career as a feature film director in 1959 with "Los Golfos". His first popular hit came with "The Hunt" (1966), Golden Bear winner at the Berlin Film Festival. He directed acclaimed features such as "The Garden of Delight" (1970), "Anna and the Wolves" (1973), presented at Cannes, and "Croa Cuervos" (1976), Grand Prize winner at Cannes. From Saura, Mostra has already presented "Blood Wedding" (1981, 5th Mostra), "Sweet Hours" (1981, 6th Mostra), "Sevillanas" (1992, 16th Mostra), and "The Seventh Day" (2004, 29th Mostra).
