Annie Ernaux - Born in 1940 and grew up in Normandy, France. After studying literature in Rouen, she became an associate professor and pursued a teaching career while writing. She is one of the most important literary voices of France, and has written approximately twenty books, among them "A Man’s Place", "Happening" and "The Years".

David Ernaux-Briot- Born in 1968 and grew up in Annecy and Cergy-Pontoise, France. He is the son of Annie and Philippe Ernaux. After studying science, he turned to science journalism. He then wrote and directed mini-series for the platforms Universcience and CANOPE. The Super 8 Years is his first full-lenght documentary.
