Emmanuel was born in Cormeilles-en-Parisis in 1980, and Julie in Avignon in 1987, both in France. The filmmakers live and work between Paris and Brussels. Emmanuel made many short films and the documentary Chaumière (2013). In 2018, Julie Lecoustre joined him to write and conceive the short film Castle to Castle, awarded at Locarno Film Festival.
