Born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, in 1980. He is a director, editor and writer, who graduated in film studies at Columbia University. He directed, among others, the documentary Laura (2011, 36th Mostra) and the fictions Casa Grande (2014), winner of the Abraccine prize at the 38th Mostra, Gabriel and the Mountain (2017), which won the Visionary Award at the Critics’ Week at Cannes Film Festival and the Critics Special Prize of best Brazilian film at the 41st Mostra, and Sunday (2018, 42nd Mostra).
