Born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, in 1980. He is a director, editor and writer. He graduated in film studies at Columbia University. He directed, among others, the documentary "Laura" (2011, 36th Mostra) and the fiction features "Casa Grande" (2014), winner of the Abraccine prize at the 38th Mostra; "Gabriel and the Mountain" (2017), which won the Visionary Award at the Critics’ Week at the Cannes Film Festival and the Critics Special Prize of best Brazilian film at the 41st Mostra, and "Sunday" (2018, 42nd Mostra).
